The The answer can be found in the Bible. Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood." Over 4000 years ago Chinese medicine said, "The Blood is the mother of Qi". During Qigong practice we can feel a powerful pulsation of blood in our body. Often it takes people by surprise how warm they feel after making just a few hand movements. Qigong moves a lot of blood and generates a lot of energy - without a lot of movement or stress.
What is a Qi blockage? It is simply a small area where the blood cannot go, or an area where disease can occur. For example, some people may have a knot in their stomach or bad digestion. Qigong usually improves this condition. Blood can work itself through closed off capillaries when the person is relaxed and increasing Qi in that area. Wherever Qi goes, blood will follow. Normal healthy people use about 60% of the circulatory system. When our Qi is increased this percentage is also increased. Blood flow to the brain and organs is improved and therefore our health is greatly benefited. |
